How-to Clean a Commercial Slicer
Commercial slicers are used by many delis, restaurants and grocery stores to easily and efficiently slice meats and cheeses. Below are a few tips to consider on how to properly clean your commercial slicer.
1. Before you begin to clean your commercial slicer, ensure that the commercial slicer is unplugged and put-on a pair of cut-resistant gloves.
2. Set the blade on the commercial slicer to zero, or to the setting that ensures the edge of the knife is not exposed
3. Mix a sanitizing solution for cleaning (follow your establishments guidelines for mixing a proper solution). Soak any cleaning cloths in the sanitizing solution and wring them out before use.
4. Remove any and all debris and clutter from the cleaning area.
5. With your cut-resistant gloves on, use the cleaning cloths to wipe away large pieces of meat or cheese. Unscrew and remove the commercial slicer’s blade cover. Wipe down the plate using a circular motion.
6. Wash the commercial slicer’s blade, slide and blade cover in the dishwasher.
