The month of May has several good things going for it. To name a few: nice weather, seasonal fruits and veggies, Cinco de Mayo, and the NRA Show. And you can find all these things in our neighbor to the north, Chicago. According to the Chicago Tribune, the “Windy City” is brimming with great Mexican cuisine. And what better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo—a celebration of Mexican heritage and culture that anyone can enjoy—than to savor some taquitos, authentic tamales, and tequila? If you’re in Chicago, you’re in luck.

Celebrity chef Rick Bayless claims that his motivation for moving to Chicago was the great Mexican food. And May 19th at 10am, Bayless will be making an appearance at the National Restaurant Association Show. (And so will I, albeit a less noteworthy appearance.)
But you don’t have to live in Chicago or go to the NRA Show to find good Mexican and great cooks. If you’re a chef, a cook, a foodie, or otherwise like food, I encourage you to become a member at Fohboh.com (a food and drink-loving social networking site) and if you like Mexican food, I hope you’ll join my group, “Mexican Food Fiends.”
Have a great Thursday—and a happy May Day!
