Why Consumers Often Choose the Independent Establishment
Practice the Gold Rule within your local community, and you may see increased business at your independently owned restaurant or bar.
It seems that more and more Americans site their primary reason for visiting local, independently owned restaurants and bars is because they feel those establishments do a good job of supporting the local community. These consumers are eager to return the favor, and in a time of economic difficulty the support of these consumers can give independent establishments an edge over their chain competitors.
So you’ve done your part within your community, and now you find yourself with a few new customers. Now comes the hard part – you need to make sure their experience at your independent restaurant knocks their socks off, and doesn’t leave them wishing they would have eaten at that chain restaurant down the street. Some of consumers’ biggest complaints in regards to independent restaurants are that when compared to chain restaurants they do a worse job with consumer convenience and speed of service.
