Q. I am a residential shopper, not a restaurant or bar; can I still order from Serv-U?
A. Anyone can order restaurant equipment and supplies from Serv-U, though a small extra shipping charge will be applied to a residential order.

Q. How can I order from Serv-U?
A. There are six simple ways to order your restaurant and bar equipment from Serv-U:

  • You can place your order by phone (800-797-3788) Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 6pm, Friday and Saturday, 10am to 2pm.
  • Or you can fax us your order (217-359-3867) anytime.
  • Feel free to mail us a completed order form from our printed restaurant equipment and bar supply catalog (request a FREE catalog) or you can download and print the order form.
  • There are also ways to order your commercial kitchen supplies 24/7 on the web; one is through the online shopping system here at www.servu-online.com
  • The other online ordering method is through email. Send us a list of the items you would like along with your contact information to servusales@servu-online.com.
  • Will-call is also available. You are welcome to pick your order up in person from our Champaign, IL distribution center Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm and Saturday, 10am to 2pm.

Q. What if the item I want is out of stock?
A. We will backorder out-of-stock restaurant supplies and bar equipment whenever possible unless you tell us that you do not want an item backordered.

Q. What if I don't see the restaurant and bar equipment I need on www.servu-online.com or in Serv-U's catalog?
A. Please give us a call or try our "Live Chat" feature online. We may be able to special order just the product that you are looking for!

Q. How can I pay for my order?
A. There are three ways to pay for your Serv-U order:

  • Pre-payment: Pre-payment may be made through check, money order, or by wire transfer.
  • COD: We also offer collect-on-delivery service on ground shipments. There is a maximum limit of $300.00 for COD orders and a $9.00 fee that is added by the delivery carrier. Please be certain that someone will be available to accept and pay for the delivery.
  • Credit Card: Serv-U accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Q. How do I know that my payment information is secure?
A. Serv-U respects your privacy and protects your personal information. Please see Serv-U's Privacy Policy.

Q. Do I have to pay sales tax on my order?
A. Serv-U collects sales tax on orders in the state of Illinois. Also, some manufacturers charge sales tax on factory-direct orders shipped into certain states. Ask your Serv-U sales representative for details.

Q. How can I track my order's shipment?
A. An email will be sent to you with tracking information once your order is shipped.

Q. If something is damaged in shipment, what do I do?
A. The delivery carrier is responsible for any loss or damage. You are responsible for inspecting all shipments for any shortage or damage BEFORE THE DRIVER DEPARTS. Note any loss or damage on the delivery receipt BEFORE SIGNING FOR THE SHIPMENT. If concealed damage is discovered, you must save the cartons and packaging and request an inspection from UPS, Federal Express, or the appropriate truck carrier. Damage must be reported within 15 days. Our Customer Service Department can provide advice and assistance when you are filing your claim. Do not return damaged merchandise to Serv-U without authorization. This will waive your right to file a claim or receive proper credit for the item. When in doubt, contact our Customer Service Department toll-free at 1-866-827-3788; they are eager to help!

Q. What is Serv-U's return policy?
A. New and unused stocked items may be returned (in the original cartons) within 30 days of the invoice date. Returns due to customer negligence or error will be subject to a restocking fee upon inspection of the item. Outbound freight may not be refunded at the merchant's discretion. Non-stock items and items shipped directly from the factory are subject to the manufacturer's restocking fee.

USED, SPECIAL ORDER, and CUSTOM-MADE items may NOT be returned.

A new and unused item that appears to be inoperable, but has no apparent damage, is considered defective.

The procedures for returning defective merchandise may vary, since many manufacturers insist on handling defects directly. If the defective merchandise is used, our Customer Service Department can assist you in contacting the manufacturer for warranty repair or replacement.

Please contact our Customer Service Department to obtain a Return Authorization before returning any item.

All returns must be freight pre-paid. Returns sent C.O.D. will be refused.
