Shipping and Returns

Orders on in-stock merchandise will usually ship within 24 hours. Our skilled sales representatives will help in determining the best shipping method for your business and will add the corresponding shipping charges to your invoice. Air delivery options are available at an additional charge for faster delivery. When you receive your delivery, make sure you have the appropriate assistance available to unload your shipment. Shipments are tailgate deliveries and drivers are not required to help in unloading. Lift gate and inside delivery services may be added for additional fees.

Delivering carriers hold all responsibility for lost or damaged items. However, it is your responsibility to inspect the shipments and notify the driver of any damage before he/she leaves. Note any loss or damage on the delivery receipt before signing for the shipment. You are responsible for holding on to cartons and packaging if concealed damage has been discovered. Request an inspection from UPS, Federal Express or the appropriate carrier as soon as possible. All damage must be reported within 15 days of receiving the shipment. Our Customer Service Department will be happy to provide advice when filing your claim. Do not return damaged merchandise to Serv-U without proper authorization. Doing so will waive your right to file a claim or receive proper credit for the item. Contact our Customer Service Department toll-free at 800-797-3788 with any questions.

Return Policy and Instructions

New and unused items can be returned in their original cartons within 30 days of the invoice date. Returns due to customer negligence or error will be subject to a restocking fee upon inspection of the item. Outbound freight may not be refunded at the merchant's discretion. Non-stock items or items shipped directly from the factory are subject to manufacturer's restocking fee. Used, special order and custom-made items may not be returned. Any new and unused item that appears to be inoperable, but has no apparent damage, is considered to be defective.

The procedures for returning defective merchandise may very as many manufacturers insist on handling defects directly. If the defective merchandise is used, our Customer Service Department can assist you in contacting the manufacturer for warranty repair or replacement. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 800-797-3788 to obtain a Return Authorization before returning any item. All returns must be freight pre-paid. Returns sent cash on delivery will be refused.

Special Order and Custom-Made Merchandise

Any special order or custom-made merchandise already in production at the manufacturer's facility will be subject to the manufacturer's cancellation fees and applicable restocking fees. As stated in the return policy and instructions section, special order and custom-made items may not be returned.

Payment Methods

Pre-Payment: Pre-payment can be made via check (personal, business or cashier's), money order, or by a wire transfer. All non-sufficiently funded checks will be assed a $25 service charge. If it becomes necessary for Serv-U to use an attorney or collection agency, you will be held responsible for paying all collection fees.

COD: There is a maximum limit of $300 for all cash on delivery orders. A $9 fee will also be added by the delivering carrier. Some delivering carriers no longer accept cash as payment for a COD delivery. Make sure someone will be available at the delivery location to accept and pay for the delivery. If an order is returned because of insufficient funding, you will be responsible for the carrier's COD and shipping frees.

Credit Cards: Serv-U accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express credit cards. Please provide the credit card billing address (if different from the shipping address) as well as daytime and evening phone numbers. If the billing address does not match the location on file with your bank, or if authorization if denied for any reason, Serv-U reserves the right to cancel the order.

We make every attempt to keep our published pricing consistent for the duration of our catalog. However, due to impending manufacturer price increases and their Minimum Advertised Pricing policies, some prices are subject to change.

Sales Tax

Serv-U collects sales tax on orders in the state of Illinois. Certain factories may charge sales tax on ship direct orders into certain states. Please contact a Serv-U Sales Representative with any inquiries.
